Walk through the past

Driving for the first time.

Today I woke up at 5am, then went back to bed to wake up at 6am. I went online for a while, and prepared my own breakfast. At about 8am, my driving instructor came to pick me up from my house.

My driving instructor was an old boy from SFI. He's pretty cool, I guess.

At any rate; when I reached there, I was told to go to the big hall to listen to another lecture. Well, the lecture was fairly interesting, but not very informative. At any rate, at about 10:30 or so we had a break, so I was thinking to go say "Hi" to Jasmine, since she was driving there. I went to the course and stood under the shade, trying to spot her in her car, when I heard a rather familiar voice call my name, or rather, not the usual way she'd call me.

"Hey Foo!" greeted Jia Lin from a few meters away. I could only wave back at her, mildly surprised because I didn't know she was there. Well, a while later, Jasmine's car came into view and when she saw us she was waving like mad. Like mad. After going a few more rounds up hill and down, her instructor entered her car and they drove out.

At any rate; Jia Lin's turn to drive came up soon, and so we part ways as I entered the hall once again to listen to the lecture.

After I was done, Mr. Leong (my instructor) brought me and another student to eat lunch first, before driving. Well, she (the other student) left, maybe because she was done that day and could go back. Mr. Leong treated me to lunch, and then took me back to the driving centre to teach me some basics. I think I was driving for about 2 and a half hours, and by the time we were done, my legs had already gone numb.

He sent me home after we were done, and now I'm freaking tired.

Terence out!

The University of Nottingham

Well, today, I've sent in my application to enter the foundation programme for Engineering in Nottingham. I plan to do at least 2 years here, and finish off my course in the UK (hopefully with a Masters). I will have to rely on a scholarship, I guess, if I want to go to UK or worst case scenario, MFS (Mother Father Sponsors).

Or maybe I'll just finish it off in Malaysia, since, supposedly there's not noticeable difference.

At any rate; all that is if I'm accepted. If not, who knows, I might go to Form 6 (With a lot of my friends) or go to Curtin, as what I had previously planned.

I don't know if I made the right decision or not, but I can be sure that's the best decision for now. At least, better than doing notting and fretting.

Oh crap, did I just make a terrible pun there?

New Year Clothes Shopping

Argh... I really wanted to buy that Esprit jeans(?)... really badly! Why did they not have my size? 28....29...31...32

Where's my 30?!

Bought lots of clothes, possible cost about RM 500, or more.

My 3-day-escape from Reality.

Oh come on, what the heck? After typing so much why is it gone? Argh, darn it, I'll type it again tomorrow.

Monday; 10th January 2011.

Photos are here, but I guess anyone who reads my blog already knows.

I woke up at 6am, got changed and readied by 7am. My father dropped me off at Melaka Sentral at about 7.30am, where I met up with Fan Kiat and got introduced to Chua Carol (with an official hand shake, too.) I bought a bottle of Spritzer water, since carrying a bottle of water around with you when you travel is always a good idea. After all, water is the "liquid of life" and the "universal solvent". Shortly after that, we met up with Isaiah, who was apparently walking
around the whole area. Then, we went to our departure station (Interstate busses). After a while, Jasmine, Jia Lin and Cai Jun arrived. Then we joked a little on how Glenn's "reaching already" meant "reaching his car already" but Glenn arrived quite soon after that too, so he was really reaching already when we called him. After that, all of us boarded the bus and went to KL (I can't quite remember which station did we stop at in KL though.)

Well, at KL, we took a bus to 1Utama. The bus driver was even kind enough to tell us "Bila mau balik nanti you tunggu kat sana". First things first, we went walking around looking for something to eat. I think the main problem with us is choosing our food; mainly because we don't want to feel like we are forcing our decisions on others... until everyone is like "your choice". Ultimately, we all agreed (after much walking around and grumbling) to eat at Fish and Co.
or something like that. The food was, as you guessed, fish. 4 of us ordered normal Fish n' Chips, while another four ordered New York fish n chips (added USA flag and some cheese). I think that at this point, Glenn became the WOMAN. Let we explain...

Jasmine was eating the New York Fish n Chips. It was quite the large portion. Jasmine was saying, "I can eat this finish, for sure." and Glenn was, "Impossible. If you cannot eat finish you become my slave for 3 days." and then she replied, "Okay, if I can eat finish you lick my shoes." So Jasmine got to eating her fish... and she really looked like she was going to finish it. Then Glenn chickened out and said the deal was off, despite Fan Kiat saying that she will not eat it finish, don't be scared, or as he puts it "No balls la Glenn." Because of his foolish action of even suggesting a deal he would later on cancel, Carol called him Woman, and in resistance, Glenn called her Man. Ultimately, Jasmine did not finish her food (she finished the fish, but the couldn't eat finish the chips).

After much joking around and laughing some more, we split up because Isaiah wanted to buy some cup noodles and deemed it unnecessary for all of us to go together. In the end, He, Glenn and I took all the orders and went off to Jusco to buy the noodles.

That's a lot of cup noodles.

After that we walked around while the others, Fan Kiat, Cai Jun, Jia Lin, Jasmine, and Carol went walking around for clothes(?). After buying the noodles though, we just sat down at the top floor and relaxed. I took the American Mensa Test and scorer 117 (lower than my other score by 2) but then again Isaiah and Glenn helped me a little. When it was about time (our bus to Genting was at 4:30pm, but we started moving at about 4pm), we went to the bus stop. Along the way, we met Jia Lin, Fan Kiat and Cai Jun. Jasmine was tired, and Carol was accompanying her at the bus stop already. At any rate, since we were still early, we stopped by one last shop (Hang Ten) and, using Jia Lin's membership card, bought some clothes (I bought a shirt for 30% discount). The time was about 4:25pm then. Just as we were about to make a beeline to the bus stop, Jia Lin said, "What the hell!" as she looked at the receipt. The shirt I bought was only 30% discounted, when it should have been 40%! Then, she rushed back in and started arguing with the worker at the store. After about 5 minutes (4:30pm!) we walked out of the store, saving RM14. As we were walking towards the bus stop, Jia Lin went, "Eh, what the hell!" again. The clothes should have been 40% discounted, but it was only 37%! Alas, we were too late to go back and argue with them anymore. Cursing, we rushed to the bus stop to meet up with Jasmine and Carol again and got on the bus.

On the bus, things were pretty uneventful again. Uneventful, that is, until it became a freaking roller coaster ride towards the end. I mean, we were going downhill at crazy speeds! Haven't you read the news! Hello! Freak accidents happening left and right, yet you're driving so fast?! Heck, it was even drizzling a little! Nevertheless, we reached the "sky bus" (essentially, cable cars) safely (in record time too, might I add. Slightly over an hour from 1Utama to the cable car area).

I feel sick even remembering the next part. All of us got on a cable car. (8 of us fit nicely). Then it started moving. As with the bus, the first part of the ride was normal. I mean, it was shaking a little, we were joking and I wasn't enjoying the jokes they were making. Snapped a few photos. Then the stop and drop. Near the top of the ride (where the distance between the cable car and the ground was really, really far), the carriage suddenly stopped and we oscillated in the air for a few seconds. Dropping, then going up again, then dropping, then going up again. Ugh, I felt totally sick. It wasn't so bad if it only stopped once, maybe twice; but it stopped for a total of 4 times. Each time we moved even higher, and stopped again. While I assume everyone was scared for the first time, they all started laughing and talking again like normal when we stopped again. Everyone, that is, except for Cai Jun and I. I could totally feel how she felt whenever we stopped again. Like I've said before, I felt totally sick, even after we landed, for a while.

After the whole cable car incident, we took our room keys from Jia Lin's mother, and then stuffed all our bags and luggage in the rooms. Dayum, the girls' room was huge, like 5 times the size of our room? Well, never mind that, because the next day we were to shift to the room next to theirs. At any rate, after we've settled down a little, we went to Old Town to eat a few things. I ate Nasi Lemak... the majority of them ate Hor Fun. It was slightly more expensive than in Melaka, and the serving size was smaller. Then, we walked to the grand sale thing. Really good discounts in that place. Isaiah bought a special garment that is very important to men which he forgot to bring, of all things, for RM18 for a pack of 5! I was merely walking around and looking at all the stuff there. The clothes didn't really catch my attention there; however the belts caught my eye a bit. I can't really remember what happened next, but apparently we separated and Glenn, Jia Lin and I went back to the sale after that. We were bent on choosing belts to buy. In the end, after about 2 hours, each of us bought a belt each.

After settling our business, we(the guys) spent some time chatting about and joking in the big room, before heading off to bed.

**************************

I woke up the earliest (I slept about 3 or 4 hours only, if I remember correctly), and didn't know what to do. Fan Kiat and Glenn were gay-ing together, and Isaiah was totally kicking in his sleep. I paced around in my room for about an hour or so, then I decided to bathe. Freak! It was cold! and I got my cast quite wet. Well, it doesn't matter. When I was done, Isaiah was up and looking around blur-ly. He went to bathe then, while I started to pack my stuff. (we were shifting rooms that day). Glenn woke up some time later and did some morning exercises (what a fit guy), and then he went to bathe too. Fan Kiat went over to the other room to bathe. After we were all done, we made our way to our new room. We found Jia Lin walking around the lobby area, and we went to check out of our old room and check in our new room. Sadly, the receptionist did not allow Jia Lin to open a new room under her mother's name (and it pissed her off, apparently). Well, we dumped our stuff in the girls' room for the mean time.

Jasmine was feeling sick (I heard she had a head ache) so she was still lying down when the gang wanted to go crash the outdoor theme park. Well, I wasn't going to go for any rides either way, so technically, I should have accompanied her there till she felt better; but then again, I felt like it wasn't right, so in the end, we left her a key card and took her camera out to the outdoor theme park. Though, just as we were going to buy the wristbands to enter, she arrived, saying she felt better and staying in wouldn't do her any good anyway. So all of us bought our tickets into the outdoor theme park (after some failed haggling, I think).

After all of us entered, I offered/was asked to hold their bags whilst they went to sit on the spinning chair thing. Surprisingly (in fact, very surprisingly), Jasmine joined them. After watching them spinning around at various speeds and heights, they came back down. Even more surprisingly, Jasmine said she felt better. Then, we went to sit the bumper boats. Cai Jun joined me out on this one while the rest of em' went to bump each other to their hearts' contents.

St Francis Alumni Annual Dinner

Well, I would update it after I came back from the dinner, but that'll be a bit late, so I'll reserve a spot now.

Something interesting happened this morning.

Father: Terence, so, how many of you are going to Genting on Monday?
Terence: Err, if I'm not mistaken, there's 8 of us, I think.
Father: Including those two girls?
Terence: You mean Jasmine and Jia Lin? Yeah, they're coming too.
Father: Don't they have school?
Terence: ... We're all form 5 already...
Father: ... They don't look like it.

============================================================

Photos from the dinner. Click here!(Facebook link)

All right, so at about 6:30pm , I got dressed and ready to go. I donned a long sleeved brown coloured collared shirt, with black slacks and black shoes.

I reached Pay Fong Secondary School at about 7pm. I was ushered in by our hard working prefects. Well, I saw Vincent sitting there alone, so I joined him. After all, it was only 7pm, while we were told to come by 7.30pm. Shortly after, Fan Kiat came, followed by Xiang Ming, Han Yang, Kia Meng, Sebastian, Yi Teng, Chye Yuen, Gim Toong and Jared.

Actually, you know what? I'm kind of tired, so maybe I'll update tomorrow, or let the photos do the explanation.

Honestly though, I guess that would be the last time I'll be seeing these loved classmates of mine for a long time.

Seasons of the Witch

Today I woke up at about 8am, feeling really tired for some odd reason since I slept at 10pm the night before.

At any rate; at about 11am I followed Isaiah to DP. Walked around a bit, then met up with the Lady Boss. Went to McD, had a fillet-o-fish. Sat there a while, waited for Glenn, Jia Lin, and Fan Kiat. After they came, we managed to get our plans settled. Well, after that, Glenn and Fan Kiat joined up with Chye Yuen and Jared and went their separate ways. Jia Lin, Jasmine, Isaiah and I went to MP first. After that, Jia Lin and Jasmine went to look at shoes(?) while Isaiah and I went to MPH. Apparently, Isaiah had a RM60 voucher he could use. I was on my way to the toilet after that, when my attention got distracted by a PS2 game- God of War2. Even now, it's graphics are still top notch.

After that, Glenn gave me a call, asking me if I wanted to watch Season of the Witch at 4.30pm. Well, naturally I agreed. Isaiah went back at about 2:30pm, and I was wandering around alone for a while. Then, I met up with Chye Yuen at, maybe about 3.15pm? They were eating at Kenny Roger's. Daryl was serving them. Haha. At any rate, 4 of them ate for the price of almost RM100. So, the rest of them (Jared, Fan Kiat, Glenn) wanted to go pool, while Chye Yuen and I didn't quite want to go to there. So, Chye Yuen used my phone and gave Jasmine a call.

Shortly after, we met up with them again, (Jasmine, Jia Lin, and Royston?) at the Padini concept store at DP. Jasmine said something really interesting. It went something like this:

Jia Lin: Why don't you try this on?
Jasmine: Hmm... I don't think I want to. No mood to shop now.

Haha, Jasmine, no mood to shop? Well, I guess it does happen once in a while. At any rate, nothing really caught my eye there. We went walking around some more and stop by some... store to buy some snacks. It was beside the Shilin Street Snacks. Jasmine ordered some crepe thing, while I ordered some roti canai thing. Well, Jasmine's looked good, but I opted for something cheaper and I guess I got something quite lousy. I mean, the cheese was quite horrible, not to mention that they used some cheap (and pitiful) ham slices. Well, I had trouble eating mine finish but I finished it anyway, and was forced to buy a soya drink to wash away the after taste(probably of raw onions). Chye Yuen commented, "Maybe they purposely made it bad... then you have to buy a drink from them each time." Maybe you're right.

After that, we dropped by a store and Jasmine bought something. Should I say which store we dropped by? Maybe I shouldn't. At any rate, it was 4:30 then, so Chye Yuen, Han Peng (he joined us while we were going up the elevator) and I said goodbye to Royston(?), Jasmine and Jia Lin, while we went to watch Season of the Witch.

Well, Season of the Witch. What should I say about this movie? It wasn't very good, but it wasn't that bad either. Well, very religious and anti-Christ. I don't know why it was even 18+, because there wasn't really 18+ about it. Not even that much violence too. I guess it falls under the category of "Movies that I wouldn't recommend to anyone, but I won't say anything against it."

After that I went back home, and so ends the activities of my day.

The discussion of the plans.

Last time seeing my orthopaedic surgeon

This morning I woke up at 7am... went to see the orthopaedic surgeon once more. He unwrapped the bandages and started twisting my wrist.

"Pain?"
"No."
"Pain?"
"No."
"Pain?"
"Ow ow yes, it hurts."

In all honesty, he isn't as bad as I make him sound like. It's just, these are the most memorable parts of him.

RM 150 bill this time... and a month's worth of some calcium and nerve pills that I should take everyday.

Karaoke, Gulliver's Travels, The Tourist

I guess I'll update this some other time. /procrastinate again.

"Glenn, you're such a gentleman."
"Fuh!" *started laughing*
"Hey, no mocking here, okay?"
"I wasn't mocking you, I was complimenting you..."
"Any compliments used on Glenn might as well be mockeries."
"Oi! Don't make me scold you bad word..."
"You already scold me bad word so many times... hahahaha!"

*laughs* *laughs**...laughs*

It's amazing how we can do this and just laugh it off, I think.

So it was Monday; the third of the first month of the first year of a new decade. (3/1/2011)

I woke up at about 7am today, and did some stretching. I took out and admired my school uniforms. They were yellowish and old looking. Some had ink marks here and there that couldn't be washed off. Then I hung them back in my cupboard. I went downstairs and stood at my balcony. I saw my neighbours' children going to school. I had my breakfast, and then at about 10am, went to school. Met up with Glenn, Xiang Ming, Fan Kiat, Hann Suk, and Bernard there.

At school, I was constantly shot with the question, "What happened to your hand?", and all I did was smile and say, "Ask that handsome guy beside me... he can tell you in more detail." I gave away the remainder of all my exercise and reference books to various students and teachers for free in school. Then, we had a short talk with a few teachers.

After that, a call from Jia En forced me to cut our pleasant conversation with the teachers short. We headed over to Dreambox karaoke. 12:30pm, just then. Well, we sang some songs. While we were inside the room, I actually thought we sang quite well.... but when we left and I checked my recordings, oh goodness, they sounded terrible. Since our first movie (Gulliver's Travels) was at 2pm, we had to cut our karaoke session short. Bernard still continued singing though, I guess, since he wasn't watching that movie with us.

We reached the cinema area, and to my surprise, Jasmine and Jia Lin and another girl who I do not know the name of joined us. Oh joyous occasion. Well, we went for the movie together.

The movie was, at most, humorous. I don't really have much memories of it, since it didn't have a lasting impression. After the movie though, Jasmine felt sick(?). Honestly, she was pale after we exited the cinema. Well, we all sat down a while, then I accompanied Fan Kiat to buy some bread before rushing back to the cinema. Why back to the cinema? Well, we made an impromptu plan to catch The Tourist right after Gulliver's Travels. I daresay, it was the first time I watched two movies back to back like that, but given a choice, I probably won't do it again.

Now, The Tourist, that was a nice movie. Keong said it was better than Inception, but I disagree wholeheartedly. Quite nice, but expected, plot twists. I can't really say much, because it'll really spoil the movie.

After we exited the cinema for the second time... ouch, my back hurts and my behind's sore. After that, Thim Seng went to find his own food, Fan Kiat went back while Glenn, Jasmine, Jia Lin, Jia En, and the other girl(?) and me went walking around a bit.

The conversation at the top happened at Green Apple. Then, they all left, leaving Jia En and me. Shortly after, Jia En left too. I was alone, for a while. I walked around a bit, then I saw Kia Meng. Spoke with him for a while, before he said he needed to go back to work. Shortly after, my father arrived to pick me up.

And so ends my activities for the day.

Grandmother's homecooked food.

Today(Sunday) I woke up at 8.00am as usual; becoming my usual routine lately no matter how late I sleep the day before.

Well, evening I went for basketball. Though, "went for basketball" isn't really the correct phrase to use, since I merely observed. Wen Way was there too. At any rate, that wasn't the highlight of my day.

At about 6:45pm, my father came to pick me up. We went to my grandmother's place. She had prepared a truly luxurious meal for us.

Well, the first foodstuff that was served was the main meal, nasi lemak. It was hand-made-home-prepared nasi lemak. It was THE bona fide nasi lemak of nyonya origin. I can't begin to describe just how delicious it was. It was soft... yet chewy. It had a sweet smelling pandan fragrance. Even the steam that wafted from it screamed delicious. I sank my spoon into the rice, lifted it up and put it into my already watering mouth. I closed my eyes as I savoured the taste, texture and aroma. I chewed ever so slowly and my body tingled as I swallowed it. I had to exercise great willpower to prevent myself from taking another mouthful just yet, as more dishes were being served within moments.

Then, there were the customary anchovies. I mean, which nasi lemak is complete without them? They were crispy and crunchy, fried to a beautiful golden brown. Even as the plate was being laid down on the table, I could hear the crispy layer scraping each other and the sound of the sizzling oil, creating a most pleasing melody to all present at the table. I picked one up slowly, placed it between my incisors and bit down carefully. Half of it landed on my tongue, and immediately I could taste the slightly salty flavour of the fish as well as it's satisfying crunch as I chewed it more.

The next thing on the menu was the fried Water Convolvulus. In local language, the kangkung. It doesn't seem as impressive when called kangkung, does it? However, the taste is still the same, and so goes the saying "that which we call a rose would be just as sweet by any other name", or "that which we call a kangkung would be just as tasty by any other name", considering the situation. At any rate, they were simply delicious. They were crunchy, as they should be, and I don't know how or what my grandmother did to make them different from others, but they were very flavourful. Not to mention that they were not only extremely fresh, but they were right out of the frying pan to boot. These kangkung were the cream of the crop, the best I've eaten so far, that's for sure.

I caught a whiff of the next dish even before it came out of the kitchen. I shook with excitement from just the thought of it: my grandmother's famous specialty sambal. It could make me scream for water, yet I just can't help myself from pouring more on my rice or even eat it on it's own. It is that delicious. As an added bonus, there were king prawns added into it that time, not that I fancy those crustaceans very much. Of course, there were a lot of onions in the sambal, cooked to perfection: soft, yet still able to provide a bite. The sambal itself was the thing I loved most. It was unimaginably spicy, as always, slightly sweet and also a little salty. It had a beautiful red coloured surface owing to the oil on it. A perfect match for any meal. Having sambal as one of Malaysia's primary side dishes is one of the reasons why I love this country so much.

I heard the next dish being fried in the wok as I impatiently twiddled my thumbs while waiting. The scent of it only made me more hungry, as my patience slowly edged to its limit. Finally, after what seemed like forever, it was taken out of the kitchen. A plate full of fried chicken, cooked a la nyonya with all its spices. I felt like I was experiencing withdrawal symptoms from all the waiting. My hands were shivering and sweating, my eyes eyed the plate of chicken like how a predator would when waiting for its prey. I licked my lips as the dish was finally placed on the table. The chicken was still sizzling hot, so hot in fact that a small area above it became distorted. It was dark brown, with bits of garlic scattered on top of it. I took a piece of chicken and put it on my place. The moment my fork pierced the crispy skin, its juice oozed out. I couldn't wait any longer, and brought it to my mouth to be relished in all its glory.

I arranged the various food on my plate. It was a work of fine art; the rice in the middle, a large helping of the sambal to its left, some kangkung on top of it, just beside that were the anchovies and on the right was a piece of fried chicken. I was on cloud nine just thinking about how lucky I was to be able to eat food like these on a regular basis. I ate whatever was on my plate and then took seconds and more top-ups after that until every single dish was licked clean off their plates. I was not surprised that I could eat so much, since no matter how full I felt, once I poured another spoonful of sambal on my plate, everything seemed to go down just fine. Let's not count how many glasses of water I drank that night, too.

Behind the scenes:

Well, I guess I exaggerated a little bit, but I suddenly felt like doing that. It was a very nice dinner, though, and that's the truth.

Happy New Year 2011, hopefully.

I wonder why, my hand's kinda hurting today again. I'll update this later

Alright, so yesterday, the eve of the new year, Keong, Glenn, and Jia En dropped by my house. Glenn arrived first. I showed him Spirited Away. It's a really wonderful movie, so if you haven't yet seen it, you should. Then Keong arrived about an hour later and even brought his own PS2. They played FFX for a while, and then some Rumble Arena while I watched. Jia En came after that, and amazed us with some of his piano songs again. Then, I set up Warcraft 3 on one of my computers and they played DotA together. I only watched, since it's too troublesome to play with my left hand in a cast like this. Well, it was interesting. Glenn and Keong were hurling insults to each other across the room, while Jia En was quiet and occasionally laughing or expressing his shock at getting beaten. I was literally rolling on the floor laughing the whole time. Well, they won the game in the end.

After that they went back, while I was undecided on whether I wanted to go to Jonker Street later that night for the countdown of the new year. Well, in the end I asked my parents and they said it was alright for me to go, though I should be careful. In fact, my father was so paranoid about me going.

"Don't bring your wallet! Don't bring your phone! Wear a pair of pants with zips! Put your IC in the zip! Wear shoes! Don't go into the crowds! Call me when you meet you friends!"

And so much more. Hahaha, well, I brought my phone anyways. How would I contact him otherwise? At any rate, he made Malaysians out to be so much worse than they actually are.

It wasn't really crowded when I arrived there, though it was only about 8:40pm when I reached. I saw Hann Suk standing around there, looking restless. I walked with him around there, and then Thim Seng arrived shortly after. We walked on through the crowd and rows of stalls when Glenn called and said he had arrived. The time was 9:25pm. Did I mention that we were supposed to meet at 8:30pm?

We walked up and down and all around the area, stopping by certain areas to look at their wares. I saw many familiar faces there, like Li Yang, Mak, How Chong, Kok Ern... and some less familiar faces but nonetheless people I know. Later, we (Glenn, Thim Seng, Hann Suk and I) went to eat some cendol at the roadside store. Well, it wasn't anything spectacular. I've tasted much better before. Then, Diana and her friend, Ai Jie (?) joined us, though they didn't order anything. Glenn and Thim Seng also ordered some potato chips, which were really quite bad, to be honest. Well, after that we split up again, with Diana and her friend going on their own way while we took the opposite direction. After some walking around in the crowd, we went to the Melaka River.

"Melaka River. Very nice smell! Japan river. No smell!"

Took a breather there a while, and then Keong gave us a call. He was going to meet us, since he was in the area. We went up the Dutch fort, and also went to look at the Melaka Sultanate's water mill. After that, Keong joined us and we went right into the crowds for the countdown. We saw Diana and her friend escaping the crowd. It was very hectic. As in, seriously hectic. People were everywhere, and you couldn't move without pushing through the crowds. Well, somehow or rather, we managed to push ourselves into the center of the crowd where they were doing the count down.

5....4....3....2....1.... Happy New year, 2011! ! !

Poppers were cracking everywhere. Some fake snow thing was being sprayed in the air. Bubbles were being blown. Glitter paper was released into the sky. Everyone was shouting and screaming their lungs out. I guess I contributed to the noise too. Seriously, if someone managed to develop something that can convert sound energy into electrical energy, that person will be really rich.

Well, after the countdown ended, people were still sort of celebrating. Keong, Glenn, Hann Suk and I (Thim Seng disappeared) pushed our way through the other end of the street and saw a stage performance for a while. Then, Glenn and Hann Suk went back home, while I followed Keong back to DP. Along the way (it was almost 1am, by that time) Keong tried scaring me with some ghost stories and about how the area around our school would be suitable for a fatal frame game, or silent hill game. At any rate, when we reached DP, we saw Joel sitting down there too. We talked for a while, and then Joel went back home. Keong accompanied me a while longer, before joining his parents to see a movie. The Tourist, at 1am. My parents picked me up shortly after, and my day ended.

According to my Hazel's application, the walkmate, from 9-12, I took about 5000 steps, and from 12-1 I took about 3000 steps. But it's not that accurate, only good for a rough figure.
