Today, I was at home, alone, since 7am because my parents went out and my sister had work. Everything was fine and well, I had a cereal breakfast, went online, that kind of stuff. At 11am, electricity supply went out. Ugh! Never mind, I told myself. I've got badminton at 1pm. It was canceled. Never mind, I said again. I've got a lunch to attend with a bunch of sausages. Canceled.
I drove out to eat lunch by myself. When I reached back home, the power was still out. So I gave Keong a call, and he said that it was okay for me to go. So, I drove to Keong's house. I wish it was that straight forward though. I took a wrong turn, panicked, and took another wrong turn. One wrong turn leads to the next, and I found myself out of Melaka(WHAT?) Yeah, because there was a signboard saying MELAKA -> . And I was like crap, and made the right turn. Went around and around and I found myself near the seaside (Klebang). After driving around some more, I somehow ended up at the old Eye of Malaysia (not there anymore). Did I mention that I was supposed to go kite flying but it was canceled? Anyhow, I was quite distressed at the time because my phone only had 3% battery left and didn't know how to go anywhere from there. I gave Keong a call, but he didn't answer. I gave Glenn a call but it didn't even ring. Desparate, I gave Jia Lin a call but she didn't answer either. By that time, I just wanted to go to somewhere I knew, namely Ujong Pasir, so I could get back home. I was about to give Jasmine a call but I decided not to. I got out of the car and took a look around, and thought carefully about how to go from there. As I drove off and waited at the traffic light, Keong gave me a call and told me how to go to his house from there. My phone battery died just after that conversation, thank goodness.
After being on the road for nearly an hour and a half, I reached Keong's house. I watched him play Fatal Frame there, he played half way through a new game in one seating. Cool. Then, I ate satay celup at his house courtesy of his mother. I ate like 18 sticks. Suddenly my phone rang, and it was Jia Lin. After I answered she was like speaking Chinese on the phone. Then I was stunned for a few seconds before replying.. "Uhh, Jia Lin? 我不可以听华业*." Then she stunned a while then said something back in Chinese. Something like "wait a while"? Then she shut off the phone.
*I think that's wrong somewhere, but it doesn't matter.
Then, Glenn and Syashi came by, then they joined us for a while. Then, we went to but the coconut shake from Klebang, but it was closed already. I followed Glenn and Syashi back to MP/DP area, and then I went back home. Whew, that was tiring.

Red Riding Hood
Today, morning, Jia Lin messaged me, asking if I had organised anything for the day (eg, movie). I said, no, I felt like crap and you said you were going to KL yesterday. (something like that)
So she got about to organising an outing for us. She was explaining our plans while I was half asleep in front of the computer. I was like, uhhhhhhh, ok, uhhhhhh, ok (head drops down a bit). Basically I went to sleep. I slept from 2pm, right till 6pm plus. Ate dinner, went to DP. Even though we never really mentioned a time to meet, we all seemed to arrive at roughly the same time. And by we, I meant Keong, Jia Lin and I. We went to meet up with Fan Kiat and James at the pool area. After missing the first 10 minutes of our movie, we shimmied over to the cinema. That was probably the first time in a long while since I wore a jacket/sweater to a cinema.
After the movie, we went to Pak Putra after picking/meeting Glenn. Ate a simple Garlic Cheese Naan, hot lime tea, then I went back home.
PS:/ Oi! I'm Chinese ok? To be more precise, I'm a Straits Chinese. Baba. My I/C is BLUE, and I do NOT have special rights. :(
It's probably worse off, because I can't even mix with the more Chines-y people, let alone the more Malay-y people. When someone speaks to me in English, it's like, YES, ENGLISH! MUSIC TO MY EARS!

Basketball ->Karaoke-> Tired.
This morning, I woke up at 6.30am, got ready and left by 7. Picked Bernard up at 7.10am, then waited for Keong. Glenn showed up and parked in front of me. Keong arrived about 7.30am, we went to Pertam together. Played basketball till slightly past 9am, then went to eat breakfast at Jeta Groove. The serving was small as heck, but it was alright. Dropped Jia En home, then drove back home, reached home roughly 10am. Bathed, got ready, then left again at about 10:45am, picked Jia En up and went to Dataran. Reached roughly 11:10am, waited for Glenn and Keong and Bernard. After waiting for so long, we decided to enter first. Went to Dream Box. The others arrived at about 12:20pm. Sang songs, Isaiah visited us. Saw Carol, she was hanging out with her friends. Went to play pool after that. I separated from the rest of them, went to MPH, couldn't find the book I wanted. Saw Ying Yuan and Sherwon(?). Walked back to DP, drove home. Time was 5pm. Tired as fish now, probably going to go badminton later. Cheers!

A very special conversation.
23 January 2011 (I wonder why it isn't already in my blog)
Excuse me, while my brain suddenly remembers an old conversation between Jasmine and I on the said date when I picked up Enid Blyton's The Toy Soldier and Other Stories and started reading it. This post is very personal; you've (if there really is anyone who reads my blog besides me) been warned.
When I was a child of around 5 or 6 years of age, my parents used to read to me all sorts of books, and I would be enthralled by the story telling abilities of Enid Blyton and her wonderful worlds, Aesop's Fables and his stories with moral values, of animals and humans coexisting, Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr. Fox; where animals are desperate for food due to humans, or The Witches, where a small boy saves the world, or even James and the Giant Peach, befriending kind insects who care for him just as much as he cares for them. Stories of Peter and Jane and how they simply enjoyed their everyday life, visiting a farm and playing with the animals, or going to the beach. Everyday was magical to the characters, and I could feel their magic add colour to my otherwise boring childhood.
Elves, fairies, pixies, talking toys, magic; how good boys and girls are rewarded and bad boys and girls learn to turn a new leaf and be good. How there existed a place called Fairy Land if you believed it exists; just around the bush, under the rabbit hole, or simply in a path that you never walked before. It was there, and they welcomed the little children to teach them valuable life lessons, and to add a touch of fantasy to their life. I used to imagine myself going on adventures with Tom, or Harry, or David, or Anne, or Jane or whoever; as they climbed trees to other lands; like the Land of Story Tellers, or the Land of Giants, or the Land of Ups and Downs, where we can meet funny characters like the Mayor of Topsy Turvy Land, the kind Cuckoo, or the naughty Pixie, or the smart elves, or the Queen of Fairy Land; where we help them solve their problems, where we join the parties and balls and eat blueberry tarts and grandmother's delicious pies, or suck on honey apples and so much more.
I really miss those days where I can just pick up a book and start to live in a world where anything is possible. I've grown, and I've become bitter, and cynical, and pessimistic to the point where I can't seem to enjoy the stories as much as they deserved to be. I guess I've been through many things, though I'm sure many will say it pales in comparison to theirs. But that's the reason why I'm not completely dead inside just yet. A lot of people call me a realistic person, logical; square. But I really do think I'm a dreamer. I imagine a lot, I fantasize about everything, and most importantly, there used to be a time when I believed that anything could be possible.
I'm still alive, I'm still fighting, and heck, I will win.
Just a boy who is learning to pen down his thoughts and feelings onto pieces of paper in hopes that one day the world will be able to read them and relive a childhood of bliss and ignorance.

Fan Kiat's Birthday
Last night, at about 7pm, I reached Simply Fish and saw Jasmine and Vincent there already. After greeting them, the first thing Jasmine said was (besides greeting me back), "I didn't finish the psychology essay!"
I took a seat in front of them, and then Fan Kiat, and Cai Jun sat next to me, as well as Chye Yuen and Kia Meng and James. So we pretty much centred around one end of the table. Freak, it was cold.Vincent said I could sit next to him, if I was cold. But knowing him, I wouldn't be able eat if I sat there. Instead I opted to sit at the side, away from the air-conditioner. Soon, Glenn, Jia Lin and Catherine arrived. After that, Xiang Ming arrived, followed by Keong.
Fan Kiat said I looked lonely (To my right, diagonals and front were girls(What has that got to do with anything anyway?)), so he (forcefully) shifted me back to my original place. Cold. :(
In the end, we asked the waiter there to un-cold it. So it wasn't freezing, but it was cold.

You see me drivin' round town with the people I love...
And I'm like, FWHOOHOOO, and FWHOOOHOOHOO!
****
Last night, at about 11:30pm, Glenn and I pranked Jasmine. The scenario was Glenn bought a gun to protect Carol. And she totally fell for it. At about 12:40am, we spilled the beans. And suddenly, Jia Lin asked if we wanted to have breakfast tomorrow. So, we all went to sleep at about 1am (Well, I did at any rate, and according to Jasmine, so did she).
Fast Foward to Day Break.
I had a dream where I woke up late and messed everything up. It was 5am when I checked my phone. So I went back to sleep, and woke up about 7am. Since it was early, I walked around and around my house, jumping and trying to touch new heights, going online, well, the stuff.
At about 9:30am, I was (reluctantly) allowed to drive the car on my own to their respective houses. Therefore, I volunteered to be their driver for the day (I needed to drive there anyway). Glenn said he just woke up. About 10 minutes later, Jasmine said she just woke up. Jia Lin was still asleep at that time. Well, I dillied and dallied around my house before taking off at about 10 to 10. When I reached, Glenn told me to go pick Jasmine up first. So I was like, which way is her house again? In the end I drove out to the main road and then turned in again later.
After Jasmine sat in the car, she was like, "Has Jia Lin woken up yet?" And then I was like... er. A (wake up) call later and she said she needed to get ready. So we (under Jasmine's guidance of the ins and outs of their housing area) arrived at Glenn's house. Glenn said, "Give me 5." And so we waited.... and Glenn came out and hopped in the car.
After that, we went to Jia Lin's house and waited a while for her. A three-point-turn later and we were discussing on where to eat. Glenn said McDonalds... at Ayer Keroh.(what.) Jasmine suggested Toast n' Toast. A more logical choice of action.
Freak. Upon reaching the general vicinity of Toast n' Toast, I realized that it was jammed like fish. Crazy drivers everywhere, parking as they liked. In the end, I had to make a turn and park in the next lane away. When we reached Toast n' Toast, lo and behold, Mr. Ong and his wife was dining there. He recognized me pretty instantly and asked if Glenn was my brother(what an insult. Hehe.). Hand shakes and pleasantries were exchanged before we sat down separately and ordered our breakfast.
I ate a chicken stew for Brunch. It was pretty good. Toast n Toast is pretty good. After that, our conversation went something like this.
"Jasmine, you said you wanted to try pool right?"
"Yes! but oh no, I need to do my psychology essay..."
"Don't talk nonsense lah Jasmine. If you go back you'll just sleep anyway."
"If you want to go, now the pool place just opened."
"Come on, we might as well buy "the things" as well."
"Emm, oh... oh okay. If there's no parking we'll go back home, alright?"
About 5 minutes and a just nice parking later.
We went to buy the "the things". After that...
"I want to go back..."
"Come on, we're already here. Just half an hour, alright?"
"I want to go baaack..."
"Go back lah, haha."
"If you really want to go back, I can send you."
"Ok. Let's go back."
"On second thought, no, let's go pool."
":("
We went to the pool area. Glenn did the (smooth) talking and got us a table. We explained the rules and basic tips on playing to Jasmine. So the teams were Jasmine and I vs Glenn and Jia Lin. Of course, we only played for fun.
"Oh, it's so frustrating... but it's so fun! We should definitely come again."
Yes, we should. After that, I sent them back home and went home myself. Perfect timing. Got caught in the jam at Yok Bin, Seri Kota, one asrama school, and St David.
I reached home at about 2:30pm.
"Glenn, if you didn't play pool you could have bought a gift for Carol."
"Jasmine, if you didn't shop you could have bought a house."
Touche, Glenn. touche.

Hours of fun leaves my body aching.
Today, I woke up at (slightly earlier than) 7am. I ate a cold egg and a glass of hot milo. Because the egg was so cold I just tossed it into the milo and mashed it up and ate(drank?) it together. Don't ask. It actually tasted good.
I DROVE(!) to Yok Bin by 7.35am and met Isaiah there. We played basketball and then Yee Xi joined us. By 9am, we went to the badminton hall. Well, lo and behold, except Hon Mun, everyone else came late. Talk about punctuality.
We played till 12pm, took the photo above, and parted ways.
You know, I've spent SO MANY HOURS in Yok Bin, that that place is probably my second school already.
I drove back home and slept, slept, and slept. Oh yeah, I ate at Wilson's Chicken Rice. Pretty nice.
And after waking up, my whole body is like uuguggghhhh. Heck, specifically my right knee. I think I sort of injured it. Ah well... everything comes at a price.
